Our History
The High Court Advocate Bar Association, Jabalpur is one of the most prestigious and premier bar associations in the State of Madhya Pradesh. Established with the objective of fostering legal excellence and upholding the highest standards of professional ethics, the association has grown as a vital institution for the legal community. It serves as a platform for advocates to collaborate, grow, and contribute to the justice system while maintaining the independence of the judiciary and the integrity of the legal profession.
The association is composed of esteemed members, all of whom are practicing advocates of the High Court of Jabalpur. The bar proudly holds some of the most distinguished legal minds including Hon'ble Judges of the High Court and Senior Advocates. Their vast experience and expertise have significantly contributed to the legacy and strength of the association, making it a center of excellence in the legal field.
Facilities & E-Services
Situated on the first floor within the High Court premises, the Bar Association provides a range of services to its members to support their professional practice. The association houses a well-stocked library containing an extensive collection of legal literature, journals, and case law references. Additionally, there are conference chambers available for client consultations and legal discussions. A display board within the premises provides real-time updates on the ongoing high court cases and their schedules, ensuring that advocates are well-informed about courtroom proceedings.
In line with modern legal practices, the Bar Association also offers various e-services to facilitate legal work. This includes access to advanced legal research tools, dedicated computers for legal drafting and case work, and a designated area for online video conferencing to support remote hearings and client meetings.
Objects & Governance
The High Court Advocate Bar Association is regulated by its own set of regulations through which members are enrolled, and elections are held at regular intervals to ensure smooth governance. The objects of the Bar Association include upholding the rule of law, preserving the independence of the judiciary, protecting the interests of the legal fraternity, and maintaining high standards of professional ethics.
Leadership & Legacy
Shri S.C. Datt (Senior Advocate) was the first ad hoc President of the association assuming office on April 5, 2006, and Lt. Shri R.P. Agrawal (Senior Advocate) was the first elected President of the association, with Shri Manoj Sharma (Senior Advocate) as the first Secretary. The current leadership includes Shri Sanjay Agrawal (Senior Advocate) as the President and Shri Nikhil Tiwari as the Secretary for the tenure 2024-26.
